Atlantic Photo in Partnership with ViewPoint Gallery Announce Photo Competition Deadline April 1, 2012

Atlantic Photo in Partnership with ViewPoint Gallery: are sponsoring and hosting this great event. It is open to anybody who wishes to submit his or her images to print. We mean anybody Pro, Artist, or Enthusiast. The show is meant to highlight the talent of our community. This is meant to be an inclusive and fun event. The following is an outline of the details.

ENTRY DEADLINE IS APRIL 1 2012

1) All images will be printed by Atlantic Photo Supply on 8×10 metallic paper, mounted on smooth mount.

2) The cost is $5 per entry, and $5.00 per print ($10 total). Limit to 4 entrees and prints per person. There will be 4 categories to enter under: Portrait, Wedding, Photographic Art, and Commercial.

3) There will be a panel of 3 Judges that will determine the winner in each category. There will also be a public choice ballet as well. There will prizes for the winners. To be announced at a later date. We are looking for creativity.

4) To submit your entry go to https://atlanticphotosupply.fotosource.com/login.html. Create your
account and upload your file to the site. They should sized 8×10 at 300 DPI SRGB or Adobe98 color space. Order your 8×10 and proceed to check out. In the space for comments tell us the category for your
entry. Your files should be named by the name you give the image.

5) If you want to proof your submission, there will be a $5.00 charge per print.

6) We intend to display the best 200 prints. You may pick up your prints at Atlantic Photo after the show, or we can mail them for an additional cost of $5.00

Find out the benefits of becoming a member at ViewPoint Gallery!

We will be hosting a session to demonstrate what’s involved in preparing a portfolio for submission, talking about the criteria used to determine acceptance and answering questions from anyone interested in Gallery Membership.
ViewPoint Gallery is an artist-run co-operative, whose members are photographers working together to nurture and promote their artistic passion and the practice of their craft, to exhibit and market their work, and to actively engage in the cultural life of the broader photographic community.

As an arts co-op, ViewPoint thrives on an active and committed membership. We encourage emerging, mid-career and established artists interested in gallery membership to submit a portfolio for review by the New Membership Committee.

Visit from East Coast School of Languages

Two representatives from the East Coast School of Languages dropped by the Gallery this afternoon to introduce themselves. The school will be opening soon nearby, and they were introducing themselves to local businesses. They left a letter, which is at our front desk. They thought ViewPoint Gallery would be a great place to bring their students for an interesting learning experience.
